Do you know all the words to ABBA’s greatest hits? Are you a singing and dancing queen? Do you secretly wish sequins on everything and men in flares were still in fashion? If the answer is “I do, I do, I do, I do, I do,” then get ready for an unforgettable bus tour this October at the Trundle ABBA Festival with Sapphire Coast Buslines,
Introducing the Trundle ABBA Festival
The team at Sapphire Coast Buslines is thrilled to introduce an exciting new tour: the Trundle ABBA Festival, Australia’s original and only ABBA-themed extravaganza. This fabulous festival promises a full day of music, dancing and nostalgic fun set against the charming rural backdrop of Trundle, New South Wales. More details about this spectacular tour will be coming soon, but for now, let us tantalise you with what’s in store. Note that details are subject to change and conditions apply, so stay tuned for updates!
Day 1: Home to Cowra (LD)
Pack your sequins, your flares and your dancing shoes – the adventure begins! On the first day of our ABBA Festival tour, we board the Sapphire Explorers coach and set off in high spirits. Our journey takes us through Canberra, with a delightful stop at the award-winning Murrumbateman Winery. Here, we’ll indulge in a wine tasting experience at their rustic boutique cellar door, the perfect setting to enjoy a leisurely lunch. In the afternoon, we head to Cowra, where we’ll visit the serene and breathtaking Japanese Gardens. Designed by renowned landscape architect Ken Nakajima, these five hectares of gardens follow the Edo style of the Shugakin Imperial Villa in Kyoto. Stroll along meandering paths, cross wooden bridges and take in the beauty of the landscape before we check into our accommodation at the Cowra Services Club Motel (subject to availability). Unpack, relax and enjoy dinner at the club as we gear up for the festival excitement ahead.
Day 2: The ABBA Festival (B)
It’s time to channel your inner Dancing Queen! After a hearty breakfast, we’ll make our way to Trundle, the home of the legendary ABBA Festival. This day-long celebration is packed with entertainment, including:
- Fashions of the Festival – Embrace the glitter, glamour and groovy styles of the ABBA era.
- Professional dancing displays – Watch the pros take the stage with dazzling moves.
- Disco dancing competitions – Show off your best routines and compete for glory.
Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, browse an array of food stalls for lunch and dinner, and get ready for the night concert. From the first notes of “Mamma Mia” to the last encore of “Waterloo,” it’s a night to remember. After the concert, we’ll regroup for the transfer back to our accommodation, singing ABBA classics all the way.
Day 3: Cowra to Home (BL)
“So Long” but not goodbye! After a wonderful festival experience, it’s time to retrace our journey home. We’ll stop at the Canberra Burns Club for a delicious lunch and reminisce about the highlights of the trip. Arriving home mid-afternoon, you’ll carry with you cherished memories of a fantastic tour filled with laughter, music and disco fever.
