Description

A Great overnight tour to experience Canberra’s wonderful tourist attractions by day and explore the spectacular display of Floriade at night.

The tour begins with a visit to the Lanyon homestead at Tharwa, Australia’s leading historic property, for a guided tour of the restored 1850s homestead, and discover the Convict-era outbuildings, and explore the stunning gardens that make Lanyon Homestead the gem of Canberra’s history.  On arrival, you can wander through the gardens before sitting down for a mini-high tea with views of the hills beyond the Murrumbidgee River.

You will have plenty of time to relax in the hotel or go on a shopping spree with the hotel ideally located in the heart of the city shopping district. Enjoy a two-course dinner in the hotel before we head to Commonwealth Park to view the spectacular sights of Floriade at night.

The NightFest is an after-dark extravaganza with Garden beds illuminated with cutting-edge light installations, while night markets, live music, comedians and DJs are just a few highlights and other things to enjoy.

Day 2 – Start with a hearty al a Carte breakfast, ready to take in the sights of Canberra’s popular tourist attractions, including Mt Ainslie lookout, for picture-perfect views of Canberra. The sights oversee the Australian War Memorial, Anzac parade down to the old & new parliament houses, and many other sites. We will then head to the National Art Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and National Museum for free time to explore at your leisure.
On departure from Canberra, we will go via the Embassy Drive to discover the diplomatic missions around Canberra. A fun way to see how many countries you can name and view the traditional and modern architecture from many countries around the world.

Last but not least is a visit to Bredbo Christmas Barn. A treasure of Christmas decorations and a wonderland of colour and sparkle. There is nothing like this place to get you excited and in the spirit of Christmas.
