Day 1: (LD) HOME TO COWRA Tuesday 7 September 2027

Welcome to our fantastic tour to Cowra. Set on the banks of the Lachlan River, Cowra is a charming town, home to a fascinating piece of wartime history as well as tranquil gardens and pretty countryside. After we have everyone on board, we begin our tour. Today we head up the coast via Narooma and Batemans Bay before heading inland to Braidwood where we stop for lunch. This afternoon’s drive takes us to Cowra, our home for the next 3 nights.

Day 2: (BLD) COWRA Wednesday 8 September 2027

We visit the Cowra Visitor Centre where we start by viewing the award winning hologram in the P.O.W Theatre, that tells the story of the Cowra Breakout in 1944. We are then joined by a local guide who tells us about the Australian World Peace Bell, the Cowra Italy Friendship Monument and the Australian & Japanese War Cemeteries. Next, we visit the Japanese Gardens. Designed by internationally renowned landscape architect Ken Nakajima, the 5 hectare Japanese Garden follows the edo style walking garden of the Shugakuin Imperial Villa in Kyoto. Meandering paths and wooden bridges allow visitors to explore and view the gardens at ease. The Cultural Centre displays Japanese art history and crafts and has become known as the centre of Japanese culture in Australia. We have lunch on arrival before time to wander the gardens.

Day 3: (BLD) LOCAL TOURING Thursday 9 September 2027

We say goodbye to Cowra as we begin our journey home. We complete our tour with a visit to the restored 1850s Lanyon Homestead. Discover convict era outbuildings, stunning gardens and step into the stories of the families that lived and worked here. We enjoy a guided tour and stay for a delicious farewell lunch. This afternoon we arrive home with new friends and wonderful memories from our Cowra tour.

A minimum of 20 people is required for the tour to proceed.

CONDITIONS OF BOOKING

All bookings must be accompanied by a deposit of $500.00 per person

The balance and final payment must be received 30 days prior to departure

CANCELLATION POLICY

More than 90 days notice: Full refund less $500 deposit

90 – 60 days before tour: 50% refund

Less than 60 days: no refund

Sapphire Coast Buslines strongly recommend that all passengers take out travel insurance at the time of booking, in case of unexpected illness or accident.
