A MR (Medium Rigid) Licence allows you to drive any two-axle rigid vehicle, including trucks and buses, and tow trailers with a GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass) of up to 9 tonnes (within GCM limits).

Prerequisites to start the course

To enrol in the Medium Ridge (MR licence) training course, you must:

• Hold a valid C class Licence (Car for minimum 12 months).
• Meet minimum driving experience requirements.
• Complete a medical assessment / eye test (if applicable).
• Pass the Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Test
• Obtain a Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment (HVCBA) guidebook and logbook
• Complete an alcohol test prior to commencing driving

Course duration

The driver will undertake a minimum of 6 hours driver training and can be tailored to suit your needs.
